Bear Hugs
Words and music: j. scarpelli
Hug me like a bear would honey
Squeeze the breath out from my chest cause you should know that I won’t do the rest
I’m not scared, I’m laughing cause it makes no sense that we’re trapped inside the curved reflections of ourselves as kids…
And everyday I dream and weigh to get another chair for my table
And I draw the second wine glass… and I wait for a reason to fill it up.
And inside my head I’m already gone and hopefully passed on
Cause it’s simpler with your head stuck in the ground
When my eyes are seeds I grow cause I don’t see the weeds I sow
And I don’t know if you were here at all… I don’t know if you were here at all.
Cause the troubles we’ve made are a cheap parade and the elephants and cheetahs make the children bawl and cover their eyes,
chase them away and spin them sideways… so we don’t know where we have gone
We will never know where we have gone…
Waiting for a reason to fill it up…
Waiting for a reason to fill it up…
Waiting for a reason to fill it up…
